Twilight Soccer League was formed to better serve Central Massachusetts players seeking competitive summer soccer. We encourage your input — this is YOUR league.

Our mission is to maintain a fair, safe, and spirited environment for adult athletes to enjoy the game.

II. League Leadership

President – Oversees operations, finances

Vice President – Assists the President

Treasurer – Manages team fees and reports

Referee Coordinator – Assigns referees

Secretary – Manages site, rosters, and results

Team Coordinators – One per team, must attend league meetings

III. Meetings

Held 2x per year: Pre-season & Post-season

$25 fine for each missed meeting

Missing 2 meetings results in loss of voting rights

IV. Eligibility & Registration

All players must be 18 or older

Players must complete the registration form, waiver, and submit full payment before playing

Photo ID required at the first game and when requested

Rosters freeze after Game 3 of the season

Unregistered/ineligible players result in $100 fine + forfeit

V. Team Contacts

Each team designates a Team Contact to:

Distribute info to players

Be the spokesperson during disputes

Communicate concerns to the league

VI. Game Format & Rules

Games consist of two 45-minute halves with a 15-minute halftime

Games start promptly at 6:00 PM (or scheduled time)

Free substitutions allowed with referee approval

Game forfeits must be reported by 3:00 PM on game day

Regular season ties remain as ties (1 point each)

VII. Referees

One certified official per matchReferee decisions are final and cover:

VIII. Conduct & Sportsmanship

Disrespect toward referees is not tolerated

1st offense: Warning

2nd offense: Ejection + 1-game suspension minimum

Harassment = immediate ejection + possible forfeit

Only team contacts may address refs

Ejected players = play one player short

IX. Weather & Cancellations

Ref determines if a field is playable

Game counts if halftime is reached

No makeup games; all teams make playoffs

Ref Pay Guidelines:Canceled before start: Ref earns $100

Canceled after halftime: Ref earns $40

No-show: Team at field pays $40, league pays remainder

X. Playoffs

Format: Single-elimination tournament

Tiebreakers for standings:Head-to-head aggregate

Goal differential

Fewest goals allowed

Most goals scored

Coin toss

Playoff Overtime Rules:

2 x 10-minute OT periods

Still tied: 5 PKs per team (players on field)

Still tied: Sudden-death PKs until resolved
